Bogotá shifts elderly support to colombia mayor
Bogotá's local government is poised to streamline financial aid to over 50,000 elderly citizens by transitioning them from the Ingreso Mínimo Garantizado (IMG) program to Colombia Mayor, a national initiative for vulnerable seniors.
Administrative shift brings efficiency
The change, effective March cycle, will see the District of Bogotá hand over payment leadership to Colombia Mayor, a move touted as a reorganization rather than a cutback. This strategic shift aims to fortify the social protection network and ensure funds reach those most in need more efficiently.
Key points of the announcement include: more than 50,000 seniors benefitting from the transition, 88,000 others remaining on IMG through usual district channels, and a guarantee that no beneficiary will stop receiving support during the process.

Pagatodo takes over physical cashouts
One of the most significant updates for the 50,000 transitioning seniors is the shift from digital wallets to physical cash deliveries via PagaTodo's service network. Beneficiaries must enroll in the system before their first payment, which can be done at authorized PagaTodo points with identification.
Additionally, seniors must formalize their status at the nearest Subdirección Local de Integración Social, presenting a photocopy of their ID and a utility bill from their current residence. This one-time step ensures the system can release payments.
For assistance, the District has set up multiple channels including a dedicated hotline (601 3808330, option 6), in-person support at Subdirecciones Locales, and digital communication through the Secretaría de Integración Social's social media and Bogotá te Escucha portal.
