Vingegaard and evenepoel set to clash at catalunya tour
The Catalunya cycling tour kicks off Monday, March 23rd, with a high-stakes battle anticipated between defending champion Primoz Roglic and Tour de France contenders Jonas Vingegaard and Remco Evenepoel. The seven-stage race, known for its challenging climbs, promises a thrilling spectacle for cycling fans.

Vingegaard returns, evenepoel eyes challenge
Vingegaard (Visma - Lease a Bike), the two-time Tour de France winner, is back after withdrawing last year. He’s widely considered the favorite. Evenepoel (Red Bull - Bora - hansgrohe), alongside his German teammate Florian Lipowitz, will also be vying for a strong result on the Costa Brava.
The race spans from Sant Feliu de Guíxols to Barcelona, featuring stages including three mountain finishes. Last year’s edition saw Roglic snatch victory from Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates) on the final day. Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates XRG) claimed the 2024 title.
Eurosport will broadcast all seven stages live on Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2. Alternatively, the race will be available to stream exclusively on HBO Max. Eurosport.de, in collaboration with radsport-news.com, will provide a daily live ticker starting with the first stage on March 23rd at 2:50 PM.
The route includes demanding climbs like Vallter 2000 and Coll de Pal, testing the riders' endurance. Evenepoel, who recently faced delays due to snowfall, will be looking to prove his mettle in the high-altitude conditions. The final stage concludes in Barcelona on March 29th.
Elsewhere in cycling news, a harsh weather event significantly shortened the Nice stage of the Tour de France. The unpredictable conditions underscored the challenges riders face even before the main event.
