Registration For 2027 Grandma Marathon Races Opens October 1st

DULUTH — Registration for the 2027Grandma Marathon races will begin promptly at 7 p.m. CST on Thursday, Oct. 1, at grandmasmarathon.com. The 51st Grandma’s Marathon and 37th Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon are scheduled for June 19, with the 34th William A. Irvin 5K taking place on June 18.

Record-Breaking Registration Expected

All three races sold out quickly when registration opened a year ago. The Bjorklund Half Marathon and Irvin 5K sold out in under two hours, while Grandma’s Marathon, celebrating its 50th anniversary, sold out in under 12 hours, despite an expanded field.

“You wouldn’t want to be late to the start line of the race, and you don’t want to be late to the start of registration either,” said Zach Schneider, marketing and public relations director for Grandma’s Marathon. “This has literally become the race before the race. Wait until Oct. 2, and you might be too late.”
