Real Betis Balompié is extending its reach across the globe, launching a new academy in Eswatini – formerly known as Swaziland – a nation nestled between South Africa and Mozambique. The move signals a significant step in the club's international development strategy, aiming to cultivate young footballing talent in the region.

The initiative, spearheaded by Real Betis Academy, is designed to provide a structured learning environment for aspiring footballers aged 9 to 20. The academy will implement the club's renowned training methodology, emphasizing technical and tactical skills alongside character development and community engagement.

Javier López Alonso, the club's international academy coordinator, and coach Santiago González Márquez are currently on-site, overseeing the academy's launch. Their presence underscores the club's commitment to upholding its high standards and values from the outset.

Located at the UFS International School, a local partner, the academy will initially accommodate 160 players, both male and female. Training sessions will occur twice a month, combining six monthly training sessions with two matches to reinforce learned concepts. The program also incorporates specialized sessions with other local schools, expanding its impact on the region's youth football development.

Beyond on-field training, the academy prioritizes social impact. A support system for families includes access to transportation, official academy kits, and training equipment through collaboration with UFS International School. This ensures broader accessibility to the program, welcoming students from both the school and other local institutions.

The long-term vision involves establishing training centers across Eswatini's four administrative regions. The club aims to replicate its successful educational model, emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and respect – core tenets of the Real Betis philosophy.

This expansion forms part of Real Betis Academy's broader African strategy. The club seeks to strengthen its global presence and contribute to the growth of youth football across various continents. Real Betis has already established various programs, including short-term camps, training opportunities in Seville, and coach development initiatives, all designed to propagate its unique footballing ethos.
