Nacua is part of a group of NFL employees whose situations are being examined following legal troubles during the offseason. This group also includes San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman, and Rams offensive tackle Alaric Jackson. All are potentially facing discipline under the league’s conduct policy.

The NFL’s upcoming Week 1 games do not guarantee these individuals will be cleared before the regular season begins. The league could still suspend any of them, including York, after Week 1 if investigations warrant it; there’s no firm deadline for a decision.

Details of the Off-Field Incidents

York was arrested in August 2026 in East Palestine, Ohio, on charges related to a prostitution sting. Bateman and Jackson were arrested in June on separate battery charges. Nacua is the defendant in a civil lawsuit filed by Madison Atiabi, who alleges he bit her shoulder during a New Year's Eve 2025 party. His attorney denies the allegations, characterizing the incident as “horseplay.” No criminal charges have been filed against Nacua, and a civil trial is set for March 27, 2028.

The NFL has not made any public statements regarding Nacua’s case beyond confirming it remains under review. He is currently expected to be available for Week 1, but this status is subject to change.
