CAS Secretary-General Matthieu Reeb confirmed the move to AFP, signaling a clear intent to dispute the Football Association’s (FA) provisional suspension. The FA initially slapped Mudryk with a ban in June following a positive test for an as-yet-unspecified banned substance, threatening a potential four-year penalty under English rules.

Chelsea, who splashed out £100 million to acquire Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023, now face an uncertain future with their key attacking player unavailable. The winger’s 73 appearances for the Blues yielded just ten goals, a figure that won't exactly set the world alight.
