The event marked the inauguration of a new football pitch at the Santa Maria Ausiliatrice parish, a project spearheaded by EA Sports' FC Futures initiative. This is the 21st pitch EA Sports has built globally, aiming to broaden access to football for young players.

Kean, a popular figure among gamers thanks to his hit song “Bombay” – now the theme of EA Sports FC 26 – presented a special purple Fiorentina kit inspired by the track. He emphasized his own upbringing in a parish setting, highlighting the importance of such community spaces.

“I grew up in a parish, I know what it’s like to be here,” Kean commented. The event fostered a blend of football, music, and camaraderie, with Kean’s presence drawing significant attention.

Luigi De Siervo, CEO of Lega Calcio Serie A, underscored the significance of grassroots development. “Supporting football from the base, starting from the outskirts’ pitches, is fundamental to fostering the growth of future champions and fans,” he stated.

Ferrara echoed this sentiment, recalling his own youth spent playing on rudimentary pitches. “You are lucky to be able to train in a place like this,” he said. Ranocchia added, “In an era where online activity takes over, building places like this is a tribute to friendship, growth, and connection.”

The event included a presentation of the new kit and opportunities for children to interact with the players. The day served as a potent reminder of the enduring power of football to unite and inspire.

The initiative’s success speaks volumes about the enduring connection between the sport and its communities – a connection that transcends the digital realm.
