Juventus eye third time lucky for goretzka signing

Juventus are once again pursuing a move for German midfielder Leon Goretzka, with the bayern munich star set to become a free agent this summer. The 31-year-old's representatives have reportedly held talks with the Serie A giants over a potential transfer.

Third time the charm?

Third time the charm?

It's a familiar tale for Juventus fans, who have long coveted Goretzka's services. The Bundesliga ace first emerged on their radar back in 2010 during his Under-16 days with the German national team. Juventus scouts were impressed by his precocious talent and kept a close eye on his development at Bochum.

Several years of negotiations ensued, with Juventus making a concerted effort to persuade Goretzka to join them. However, the midfielder's family remained adamant that he would complete his education in Bochum before pursuing a professional career elsewhere. Despite Juventus' persistence, Goretzka chose to join Schalke in 2013.

Fast forward to 2018 and Juventus made another bid for Goretzka, this time alongside Liverpool target Emre Can. Again, the midfielder opted to stay put with bayern munich, citing a desire to remain in Germany.

Now, with Goretzka's contract expiring, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has reportedly placed the midfielder at the top of his transfer wish list. However, the Italian club will face stiff competition from Arsenal, who are also keen on securing Goretzka's signature.
