“After the game against Bayern Munich,” Güler recounts, “he told me he was proud of me. I was very pleased to hear that. I think he's a truly great coach.” The defeat to Bayern, a 3-4 loss after a 1-2 first-leg setback, left Real Madrid second in La Liga, a frustrating eight points behind Barcelona.
But Güler’s contribution – the crucial goals – offered a glimmer of hope. And the future is already being shaped. José Mourinho is set to take over as Real Madrid’s next manager, following Alonso’s confirmed move to Chelsea. “He’s now signed for Chelsea,” Güler confirmed. “I hope everything goes well for him. We’ll, of course, stay in contact.” Güler, tied to Real Madrid until 2029, enjoyed a prolific season with 51 appearances, six goals, and 14 assists.
