Wagner's checkered past ignored for national duty

Wagner received the lengthy ban after a high hit on Ingolstadts Edwin Tropmann in the DEL playoffs. However, the incident was thoroughly discussed with the player, the DEL, and all parties involved before the decision to allow him to participate for Germany was made.

Germany's national coach Harold Kreis and the DEB are also patiently waiting for a decision from long-time captain Moritz Müller, who has not been included in the latest squad for the upcoming test matches against Austria. While this does not necessarily rule out his World Cup participation, it depends on whether Müller decides to continue his career or retire.
