Coach Alfred Gislason has selected a squad featuring four prominent returnees and two debutants for the mid-May showdowns.

Moritz Sauter, a key player from Hamburg's HSV, is poised to make his A-team debut, alongside left winger Vincent Büchner from ThSV Eisenach.

Goalkeeper Andreas Wolff, along with Lukas Zerbe, Nils Lichtlein and Marko Grgic, are set to return to the fold after missing the March matches against Egypt.

Gislason views the Denmark series as a crucial opportunity to fine-tune his lineup ahead of the home World Cup in January 2027.

“Denmark and we will use one of the last opportunities to test the core of the teams around the stem,” the Icelandic coach explained. “Playing against top teams is very important for us. Under difficult conditions, we can learn best. And for that, there is currently no better opponent than Denmark.”

The team will begin preparations on May 11, with the first match against Denmark, who Germany last defeated in the 2026 European Championship final, set to take place in Copenhagen on May 15 at 19:30 local time. The return fixture is scheduled for May 17 in Cologne at 15:30.

This series represents a chance for Germany to snap a lengthy losing streak against Denmark, with their most recent victory dating back over a decade. The Danes have also named three newcomers to their squad for the tests.
