Farken ready to shine at indoor world championships
Leipziger Robert Farken is fit and raring to go as he prepares to step onto the world stage at the Indoor World Championships in Torun, Poland, starting on Friday.

Farken feels good about indoor worlds
The 28-year-old, who has recently switched his training base to Boulder, Colorado, has insisted that he's at 100% fitness despite a scare at the German Indoor Championships where he pulled out of the 3000 meters due to a nagging problem in his right leg.
Farken, a rising star in the track and field world, chalked up an impressive year in 2025, setting new German records and narrowly missing out on a medal at the World Championships in Tokyo.
He'll be one of the few German athletes competing at the Indoor Worlds, a tournament that has taken a hit with several top names missing from the entry list.
For Farken, the absence of some of the sport's biggest names presents an opportunity to shine. 'The Hallen-WM has a high value for me,' he said in a media conference. 'I was a bit surprised that we'll be represented in Torun with such a small delegation.'
Farken's decision to relocate to the USA and train under the guidance of a new coach has clearly borne fruit. His performances in 2025 saw him crack several records, including a new German mark of 3:30.80 minutes in the 1500 meters at the Diamond League meeting in Rome.
Now, as he prepares to line up for the 1500 meters at the Indoor Worlds, Farken is determined to make an impact and prove he belongs among the world's elite. 'It's one thing to make the top six,' he acknowledged. 'I believe it will be a harder task to confirm that.'
