This season, Chukwuemeka has featured in just eight starts out of 32 competitive matches for Dortmund, never playing the full 90 minutes. This limited exposure is partially attributed to a lengthy injury history, including a recent setback with muscle problems in early March.

Despite the lack of consistent playing time, Austrian national team coach Ralf Rangnick remains optimistic about Chukwuemeka's potential. He believes, alongside fellow youngster Paul Wanner, that both players could shape Austrian football for the next decade – ideally, as more than just squad players.
