Cardinals' jordan walker soars to new heights, leading st. louis to playoff contention
After a dismal start
to the 2025 season, the St. Louis Cardinals have roared back to life, and Jordan Walker is leading the charge. The newly-crowned Home Run Derby champion has electrified the league with his MVP-caliber first half, posting a.294/.354/.532 slash line, good for a 148 OPS+ and 3.8 bWAR.
Walker's transformation
Walker's journey from top prospect to struggling major leaguer has been well-documented. But since beginning a swing rebuild last July, he's rediscovered his power and become the biggest reason the Cardinals find themselves tied for the third and final National League Wild Card spot.
Manager Oliver Marmol has witnessed Walker's transformation firsthand.
