Antonelli triumphs in chaotic chinese gp; mclaren crippled by pre-race meltdown
Chaos reigned at the Chinese Grand Prix as a string of mechanical failures sidelined four teams before the race even began, but Kimi Antonelli emerged as a cool-headed victor for Mercedes.

Antonelli seizes first f1 win amidst pre-race carnage
The race weekend was immediately overshadowed by a series of catastrophic issues for McLaren, with both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri forced to withdraw due to power unit problems. The issues extended beyond McLaren, impacting Audi's Gabriel Bortoleto and Williams' Alexander Albon, leaving the grid significantly depleted. The drama continued with a first-lap collision between Franco Colapinto of Alpine and Esteban Ocon, the latter taking responsibility.
Antonelli, starting from a relatively low position, quickly battled for the lead, eventually overtaking a charging Lewis Hamilton. The Mercedes driver then expertly managed the race, weathering a safety car period to secure his maiden Formula 1 victory. “I’m speechless,” Antonelli said in a post-race interview.
