Mainz battled back from a late deficit to secure a dramatic 2-2 draw against VfB Stuttgart in a Bundesliga clash.

It was the Korean forward who gave Mainz the lead in the first half, rising highest to meet Jae-Wook Choi's cross and power a header past Alexander Nübel in the Stuttgart goal.

Stuttgart though would not be denied and twice hit back in spectacular style. First, Emre Demirovic levelled with a powerful strike from distance in the 76th minute, before Deniz Undav volleyed home a second equaliser just two minutes later.

As the game seemed destined for a Stuttgart win, Mainz's Danny da Costa popped up in the dying minutes to snatch a point for his side. Flung in a late cross by Philipp Mwene, Da Costa climbed highest to head home and give Mainz a share of the spoils.
