In an exclusive interview, the young winger discusses the whirlwind year since moving up from the third division, revealing how quickly his career has progressed. The 20-year-old, now a sought-after Chase card in the new Topps Chrome collection, credits the support of his brother and teammates for his seamless transition to the top flight.

“It’s hard to believe it’s only been a year,” El Mala admits. “One moment you’re playing in the third league, and the next you’re competing in front of 50,000 fans in the Bundesliga. It’s a dream come true.”

The call-up to the national team was a particularly emotional moment. Sitting with his brother, he initially didn't recognize the name on the screen before realizing it was coach Julian Nagelsmann. “It topped everything I’ve achieved so far,” El Mala reveals. “I was stunned.”

El Mala’s playing style is characterized by an instinctive approach, prioritizing freedom and enjoyment on the pitch. He draws no specific inspiration from other players, preferring to “just go for it.” However, he does admire the performances of Luis Diaz and Michael Olise this season.
