Val St. Come, Canada – Ramona Hofmeister blazed back to the top of women's snowboarding, securing her third World Cup victory of the season in the parallel giant slalom this Saturday. The 29-year-old edged out Japan's Tsubaki Miki by a mere 12 hundredths of a second in a thrilling final, capping off a remarkable comeback from a serious leg injury.

Hofmeister, who had previously won twice in the parallel giant slalom during the 2025 season in Quebec, has shown impressive resilience since returning to competition in January after fracturing her femur in September. The victory is her 29th World Cup win overall, a testament to her enduring talent and determination.

The race saw a strong performance from Miki, who has dominated the season so far. However, Hofmeister's speed and precision in the final run proved decisive.

The day wasn't without disappointment for other top contenders. Stefan Baumeister, competing in the men's event, exited in the quarterfinals after a mistake in the lower course section, following a strong showing in the earlier rounds. He had also failed to qualify for the Olympics.

Another race is scheduled for Sunday in Val St. Come, leading up to the World Cup final in Winterberg next Saturday. Hofmeister's performance serves as a powerful reminder that in sport, experience and sheer will often trump even the most formidable form.
